Hey I'm Emma and I'm 11. I love reading! I don't really know how to describe what type of books I like so here are a few titles of my favorite books: If I stay, Twilight, Waves, Shift, The Hunger Games, Swear to Howdy and many more! I'm really excited to read the second book in The Hunger Games series, Catching Fire. My reading goal for the year is to read at least 10 DCFs.
If I Stay
If I stay is a great book by Gayle Forman. Most of it takes place in Portland, Maine at a hospital.
There are a TON of different characters so here are the mane people, Mia, her mom dad and her little brother, Teddy, her best friend Kim, her boyfriend, Adam and her grandparents and other relatives.
Mia can't choose between staying with her boyfriend and giving up her first love, the cello or leaving her family and Adam and her best friend to go to her dream school, Julliard. But one morning Mia and her family go on a drive and her whole life changes forever........... Now Mia has to choose if she will stay and live through the pain of that morning or if she will let go and leave the people she loves. I loved this book. It made me want to cry and then read it all again! I recommend this book to anyone who likes dramatic books with big surprises.
The Golly-Whopper Games
The Golly-Whopper games is a exciting book full of puzzles and a very unpredictable mystery. It is by Jody Feldman. Gill Goodson and his family live in Orchard Heights. The mane characters are, Gill, his mom and dad, Bert Gollywop and Bert's dad Old Man Gollywop. Ever since the incident the whole Goodson family has been struggling. Gill has one chance to change everything. His deal with his dad makes everything all the more difficult. All he needs to do is beat 6500 kids at an unpredictable brain testing game. The Golly Whopper Games. I loved this book! It was intresting and full of unexpected twists. I had a TON of fun trying (unsuccessfully) to figure out all the puzzles. I think everyone should at least try reading this book. I guarantee you'll love it!
The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is an amazing book by Suzanne Collins. It is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. She is just like any other poor girl in District 12. Except she is about to go through life changing experience. In the hunger games there is only one rule. Kill! Out of the 24 kids that are chosen only one can survive. But this year everything is about to change. After taking her sisters place in the games Katniss has starting out well. She has made friends with Rue, a young girl who reminds Katniss of her sister, Prim.
But little does she know, she is about to have her world turn upside down. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! The Hunger Games and it's sequel, Catching Fire are amazing books full of action and suspense. They are great books for anyone who loves books with unexpected turns!
Shift
Shift is by Jennifer Bradbury. It is about two teenagers that go on a bicycle trip. They start in West Virginia and end in Washington. Well one of them ends there. The main characters are, Chris, Win, Win's dad, Win's dad's agent Abe Ward, Danielle, Morgan and Effie. There trip starts out great, but half way through Chris finds something strange in Win's bag. Hundred dollar bills rolled up that were the size of a softball. Then later, Chris's tire blows. Win won't stop and Chris has no patches left. He finds his way to Washington and then go's home. But Win doesn't return. Chris starts getting mysterious letters from a girl named 'Trixie'. He has to go find Win or else Winston will take away his dad's job. THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! It is action packed and soooooo much fun to read! SO READ, READ, READ!!!
Savvy
Savvy is an AMAZING book by Ingrid Law.
My favorite character is Will. But all the characters in this book are very different and Ingrid really gives a lot of detail. I think this is a great story and an INCREDIBLE book! In this book 5 kids go on an amazing adventure. They meet lots of new people and learn a lot on the way. I recommend this book to EVERYONE because it's so incredible. :)
The Graveyard Book
The graveyard book is by Neil Gaiman. I have to admit at first this book was SO boring I almost stopped reading it. But everyone said it was great. After you get through the boring parts this book is amazing! It's about a boy who grows up in a graveyard. Through out this book he makes new friend and new enemies. This is a great book and recommend t to everyone!

Emma, this is a nice little greeting paragraph. Now onto your first review... Just make sure you put a space between to the two things so readers will know they are different subjects. Great job!

Agreed, Jessie. Once you have down all the information you want for your review please put it in complete sentences/paragraph form. But if doing it this way to get you started is helpful, keep doing it that way, just know you will have to modify it a little once you have down all the important information.

Emma, great review. Just the right amount of information, organized well, and includes some opinion at the end. If you want, you can change the font and colors since it all looks great so far! I am excited to hear about what you are reading next..any DCFs on deck?
