Hi !!!!!!!! my name is Jessica and I live in Newfane  I am in sixth grade and like to play sports, ski, and read. The kinds of books I like to read are adventure, realistic fiction, and sometimes mysteries. Some of the books I would recomend are  Diamond Willow , The True Meaning Of Smeke Day,  or The Other Side Of The Island.   

    Bud Not Buddy

One of the recent books i have read is Bud Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis, it was a very good book, i thought it was a discriptive, adventurous, sad (in some parts) book. This book was discriptive when Bud got an old saxaphone , this book was sad, well not exactly sad but i felt bad for Mr.Callaway when Bud brought up that his mother was Mr.C's daughter it must have been sad for him! Bud Not Buddy was adventurous when Bud was walking on the side of the road and Lefty Louis found him. this book is about a boy named Bud and he lives in a foster home until he gets asigned a family. a boy that in the family he is assigned is 2 years older than Bud blames every thing on him , he sneeks out during the night when everyone is sleeping. He walks on the road to where he thinks is where his dad lives but it turns out to be someone else!  I suggest that anyone who likes adventure books to read it.

      Double Identity

 One of the books i have finished recently is Double Identity by Margaret Haddix is about a girl named Bethany that is 12 going on 13 and her mother has been mysteriously crying all summer. She feels she has been over protected all her life and then her parents just go and leave her at her aunt  Myrlies house that she has never heard of. If i was in her place i would of freaked out even more than she did in the book .Her parents have been keeping something from her all along and Bethany kind of had a feeling of that but she just couldnt think of it.  

   The Leanin' Dog

  One of the recent books i have read is  The Leanin' Dog  .It is about a girl named Dessa Dean and her mother died about a year ago . She lives in a cabin in the middle of the woods with her dad and he goes hunting every day and leaves her alone while Dessa gets supper and does her school work . Sence Dessa Dean and her dad  live in the middle of the woods , in the winter Dessa can't get to school because of the snow so her dad teaches her at home .Dessa Dean has those daymares until a dog comes to her cabin with a hurt leg she takes care of the dog and feeds her .This book was sad because sometimes Dessa Dean has daymares about her mother dying again from the cold and trying to save her but it wont work . I also like this book because even though it is sad in some parts it has a really happy ending .

  The Hunger Games  

One of the recent books I have read is called  The Hunger Games  it is about a 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdean who lives in a very poor district , district 12 , she is drawn to particapate in the Hunger Games .The hunger games is a show that has teames and they have to try and kill other teames of other districts or just hide out until everyone else has been killed they have to survive floods and drouts and bombs and forest fires and a bunch of natural disasters . The games last longer than you think and sometimes you need to join as ateam with somebody else . Katniss goes through alot after she gets to the capitol ( the place where they train and get ready for the games ) for example she figures out who has had a crush on her sence she was 5 . I think you should especially read this book if you like gore , romance , and action but no matter who you are I think you should definetly give this book a try .

      Repunzels Revenge 

One of the DCFs that I have recently read is called Repuzels Revenge. First of all if your thinking '' I don't want to read this book because its about pricesses '' well it isn't anything like princesses and if you ask me the girl in this book is very brave. Repunzels Revenge has a lot of action and it is kind of funny too. This book is also a comic so sometimes it is hard to read. Repuzels Revenge goes by fast and doesn't drag on like some books it is also has a lot of adventure is about a girl that was locked up in a tower for 4 years because she found out a big secret that her so called mother and she goes on a huge adventure after she escapes and meets a guy that helps save her real mother and reveal her so called (mothers) secret. 

 The Calder Game

This game isn't actually that much of a game its more like a very dangerous crime scene that could have gotten somebody killed. This book jumps from character to character every chapter so there can be a lot of dialogue. I really liked this book because every sentence pulls you in and you want to keep reading.The Calder Game has characters that are completely different for instance, Tommy is a collecter and he likes to look for things that you wouldn't normally see if you looked at it like that before, and Petra likes to write and look at words in a different way Petra also likes to make codes and fool around with words. If you like mysteries and suspence I know you will like this book.

   SHIFT

This book is aboout two boys named Win and Chris that want to go on a bike ride cross country and Win is secretly is hiding a ton of money in his bag and just ditches Chris and runs away. Chris goes back to his home and everybody thinks that it is his fault that Win went missing. Chris goes back to find his friend and has a long talk with him and then he desides to leave becaause he says he likes it better there. I suggest this book to any body who likes books about friendship.

 DCF    Faith, Hope, And Ivy June 

Faith, Hope, And Ivy June is about a girl named Ivy June that got picted to be an exchange student by getting her name picked out of a coffee can. It is also about a girl named Catherine that got picked to go to Ivy Junes school, she is from a much wealthier town. It is awkward for both of them to go to eachothers towns because they really have no idea of what to expect. It turns out they get along with eachother fine the only problem is when Ivy Junes grandfather got in a coal mining accident. Anybody who likes books about frienship should read this book, it is also very realistic.

DCF Franny Parker 

Franny Parker is about a girl named Franny Parker that has one sister and a little brother. She made her own little hospital in her barn for animals. people brought any sick animals they found or pets. Then something mysterious happened, a boy her age and his mom moved in one day next door but there was no father. Not that that would normally be mysterious usually but theydidn't seem to want their name on their mail box or even want anybody to know where they are or who they are.

Anybody who likes mysrey books or realistic fiction should read this I could not put it down.

DCF   Project Sweet Life

Project Sweet Life is about three 15 yr old boys that are best friends, their dads decide they need summer jobs but the boys really don't think so. They tell their dads that they have jobs that they realy don't they fake the jobs all summer llong when they are really figuring  out a way to make the money they really don't have. The boys realize that they should have just gotten a job in the first place because they have been working the whole time anyways. This book is for anybody that likes to read  any kind of mystery.

DCF  Where The Mountain Meets The Moon

Where The Mountain Meets The Moon is about a girl named Minli, her mother is always sighing about their misfortune and how they have to work in the feilds for rice everyday and her father is always telling Minli stories about the old man of the moon and the fruitless mountain. One day Minli leaves a note on the table and goes off to find the old man of the moon to ask him how to fix their fortune(he knows the answer to every question) Minli realizes she has all the fortune she could ever need but not in diamonds and gems. This book was a really great fantasy fiction

book, it almost seemed real.

DCF Slob

Slob is about a over weight boy named Owen that has one sister that is in a club called GWAB(girls who are boys) his mother and father owned a shop but were murdered by somebody that came into their shop with a gun. Owen spent most of his free time working on nemesis, thats an invention of his he believes he can catch the guy that murdered his parents so he will go to jail. This book will be good for anybody that likes realistic fiction.
