Howdy, and welcome to my personal page! I am a teacher and an artist and live in Newfane, VT. I love to read artist biographies, books about nature, and am even starting to get into graphic novels (there are so many great, new authors/illustrators out there). My goal is to write, illustrate and publish my own children's book...I am giving myself 5 years...here's hoping! Below are some reviews/thoughts/inspirations from books I have read recently.
Hey! I just finished "Shooting the Moon"-- check out my review.
Check out my newest review on the DCF title "The Calder Games"
I read "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley this summer (don't ask me why?!?). The language was very hard to follow at first because the book was written in the 1800s and, well, people spoke (and wrote) differently back then! I really enjoyed the book once I got used to the style. The most interesting things was the portrayal of 'Frankenstein'-- we all think of the green faced giant man with plugs in his neck walking around with stiff legs (cause that's how Hollywood interpreted it)...but the REAL Frankenstein character is very agile and somewhat "ape-like" in appearance. I wonder if Hollywood has changed any other book characters...can you think of any?? Comment me with any ideas...

Meghan, let's start with one personal page. But if you like creating pages you are welcome to begin making DCF title Pages. You would do it the same way-- the title of the page would be the title of the book and then you could look at the "Robot Dreams" format from last year and create page like that for everyone to collaborate and write reviews about the new DCFs. Once you have made the page, go to the DCF Front Page and link the new page to the list on the front page. Got it?

caity. maybe try making it smaller (click on the picture and then drag in one of the corners). also there is a setting for your text to be in the same line as an image (similar to centering, or aligning text). Check out your options in your toolbar when you edit. Play around with it. Nice job, though, figuring out how to add am image. I thought this stuff would take weeks for you all to understand!! You're a bunch of computer geniuses! :)

Caitlin- it is probably because you have a PC at home and do not have appleworks (Macs and PCs don't get along too well-- I think they need to go back to Kindergarten to learn how to share!). I will save the file as a Word document and create a link to download it on the side bar. Hope that helps!
